THE best Chinese restaurant I've encountered in Charleston. This much more resembles the Chinese restaurants I frequented when I lived in Chicago. The food was great, the service was excellent, decor is as I would expect from a nice Chinese restaurant. I loved everything about this restaurant. My only wish is that it was closer to my area. It's a bit of a drive for me to go here. Otherwise, I would be ordering from there every week!

Will never frequent place again! I played a hard game of rugby on Saturday. My Fiancé and I decided we didn't want to cook and tried this place for take out. First, the server behind had a prudish( being nice) attitude towards my fiancé and I. Didn't think too much of it I took it as her having a bad day. Wellllllll then another couple came in and ordered the server perked up and was nice as can be; I though well maybe she knows them and they've brightened up her day. So I attempted to engage in friendly dialogue with the server. Instant mood change, one worded answers so I ordered a beer and my fiancé a glass of wine as we waited. Food came bagged and was set at the end of the bar, didn't think anything of it. Well then another order came out maybe 8-12 minutes later and it was for the couple who came in after us. Once they finished signing and tipping I asked for an update of our food. She said NOT ONE WORD and walked to the end of the bar grab the bags our check and literally dropped them I from of us. I wanted to pay for the drinks only and walk out without the food but my fiancé wouldn't allow me to. So we paid, I left $2.00 as a tip ( didn't deserve that) she looked at it looked up at me, gave a dramatic exhale and then mummers "typical" just loud enough for us to hear and the lady beside us who was also having a drink. She told the server that was rude left cash on the counter an walked out. Just as we were. My fiancé and I are decent professional people with decent professional jobs and take care of business as responsible adults should. I hate to say that our dress ( I was sweaty with rugby shorts, flip flops and t-shirt) and our race was a factor in our treatment but hey. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, the use duck sauce. Food wasn't the best either since it sat and was cold by the time we arrived.

Good Dim Sum in Charleston, SC is liking finding a unicorn. And I think I've found a horse. I love dim sum from the bottom of my heart and have been eating it since I was a child. There is a huge Chinese/Asian population in my hometown, so my expectations/standards may be higher than normal. Please note, I can only review their dim sum selection as I have not had anything else on their menu. It was $3.50 for 3 pieces of hargow (quintessential dim sum shrimp dumpling). Shrimp was quite overcooked. Dumplings were small. Not very impressive. The pork shumai was just okay. It was topped and steamed with masago/fish roe. Some places do this topping well. A small piece of cooked shrimp on top would have done the shumai more justice here. The stuffed eggplant was probably the best dim sum item I had here. You'd be a fool to be able to mess up fried eggplant in any dish. Sauce lacked major flavor though. More black bean sauce please! Chicken feet lacked major flavor as well. More black bean sauce please (common issue here). Their frying and steaming techniques do provide a nice texture. First time ever having it served with peanuts steamed in the sauce. Had some more dim sum items but really didn't enjoy any of it. It was expensive for the portion sizes and lacked so much flavor and lacked the right flavors. For example, the soy sauce from the shrimp rolls are supposed to be sweet. Not one hint of sweetness here. Literally and figuratively. Better off driving to Charlotte or ATL for my dim sum fixes or until I fly back to Cali. I'll be able to hold off until then. It pains me to see dim sum prepared in this manner and that's why I wrote this review. It may be a good business move since no one else is making dim sum in the area. But at the same rate, it's not fair to serve this quality of dim sum to first timers. First impressions are huge and dim sum should be delectably good.

The rumors are true, this place is the best Chinese in Charleston - PERIOD. I will admit, I'm picky when it comes to Asian food and knowing that Charleston could be the farthest place from Asia - I was sceptic. The service was great, and the food was spot on perfect. Literally on par with the great Chinese restaurants in major cities. If you have a craving for Chinese, this is the only place for it.

Not your typical MSG-laden Chinese Buffet fare by any stretch, Dragon Palace is in a class all its own. Apart from an exquisite decor and attentive service, the food tastes the way you imagine Chinese cuisine should. Seafood soup, pineapple fried rice, and Dim Sum-bitches' are delicious!!! Several family style combinations to choose from as well.

Decided to venture out of our bubble for takeout last night, and glad we did. This is definitely the best Chinese we have found in the Mt. Pleasant/Daniel Island area. We had the General Tso Chicken, Beef Chow Mein and Tempura Green Beans. The green beans were a bit on the salty side, but still very good. The General Tso Chicken was very, very good. The white rice had the perfect amount of stickiness, and the chicken was not heavily breaded. The Beef Chow Mein noodles were also very good, with a unique, almost creamy sauce. The decor inside this place is pretty awesome. I have never been to China, so I am not sure if it is considered "authentic" Chinese, but it sure looks like Chinese restaurants I have seen in Chinatown in SF. I look forward to enjoying dinner here some time!

I am use to killer Chinese...this was okay but did not knock my socks off... Clean...good service... Came because i read a write up in the Daniel Island News...they raved...haha okay but not on my top 10... I always try a place 3 times...mix up my items and go from there... Will update...

This Chinese restaurant is unlike any other I've ever been to. Located on Daniel Island in the Publix Shopping Center, this restaurant is appointed with incredibly beautiful woodwork and Chinese art representative of one of China's past dynasties. The quality ambiance of the restaurant interior feels like an elite 5 Star restaurant and certainly is not what one would expect. Everything my family and I have ever had here is terrific. I especially recommend the Sweet and Tangy Pork Loin (especially for those wanting something similar yet different from your typical Sweet and Sour Chicken/Pork/Shrimp). I also recommend the Chinese doughnuts which are glazed and cooked differently than I've ever had at any other Chinese restaurant. I definitely recommend them (especially for lunch as the prices are appreciably less then).

The entrance is not street side. Drive around to the backside parking lot. Very clean business. Service was a little slow but very kind. Enjoyed the General Tso very much, especially with the pineapple. Lunch portion is pleanty. Will go back.

The best sit down Chinese Cuisine outside of New York you'll ever get! This is an old-school sit-down "fancy" Chinese restaurant. From the outside Dragon Palace just looks like any other Chinese place in a nondescript strip mall. When you walk in you are greeted with elegant furnishings, ornately carved arches and wall hangings, a stained glass ceiling, and a very friendly staff. The dining room is actually very quiet, and people talk with their "polite, indoor" voices. The hubs and I came here for a date night out, and we were not disappointed. I ordered the Hot and Sour soup and Schezwan chicken. The hubs ordered the Egg drop soup and garlic prawns. One of the greatest failings of Chinese restaurants these days is that the hot and sour soup is all sour from too much vinegar and no spice to speak of. Dragon Palace does not bow to this failing. My soup was well balanced and quite spicy in a very pleasant way. My chicken was perfectly cooked, the sauce was a great glossy texture, very flavorful, and not "gloppy' or over-thickened (another failing of the mediocre Chinese food buffet). The Hub's soup was gorgeous, and his prawns looked, smelled, and tasted like the gods themselves had a hand in preparing them. They do have a children's menu. but I'd like to recommend to you, dear reader, that if you come here, please come sans the Wee Ones for the best experience possible.

I'm giving Dragon Palace three stars because sometimes its very good and other times its just average. I would prefer more consistently good food. They're open Sundays- great on Daniel Island where Sunday options are limited.

Probably the second best Chinese food I've had in Charleston. If you are looking for good, only slightly westernized Chinese food. Dragon Palace is a great place to start. We had excellent service, in fact, a little more attentive than we would have expected for such a small place. When we were there on a Thursday night, it was very busy but there were still open spots. The Mongolian Beef was great. The portions are not huge but the quality is worth it.

  • Tommy V.

The General Tso's Chicken was really good. It had just enough flavor without being too spicy. The service was abysmal. Actually, let me qualify that, the amount of time that it took for us to get our food was what was bad, the waitress was nice. UPDATE: Well, the service is hit and miss. Recently we had a great attentive waiter, maybe things are getting better?

I haven't been here for years. The place still looks amazing. Great ambience lighting and food. The place got packed literally in minutes. There were only like 2 servers and they did their best to serve everyone. I took my mother here for the first time. She loved the free crispy wonton chips with orange sauce that were put on the table. We ordered calamari which of course she raved about especially the sauce that she was able to dip into it. She got Mongolian Beef and it had the right amount of spice that was isolated to the beef only not necessarily on everything on the plate. I got the pancit or rice noodles with chicken. This reminded me of here own home made pancit. She normally would never eat someone else's version but she did like this one. The place did take some time since they seemed short-handed and it was packed. I even saw our server roll her eyes when I asked for chopsticks and more water and a to-go box. Not gonna hold that against her this time since I will definitely return.

Only reason this is two stars is because the interior makes you think you are in China Town. The food was terrible! And I am not picky. My dish was way too salty, I tried to eat eat it but I couldn't ! I sent it back and I NEVER send food back. The waiter brought back the dish and I am 95% sure it was the same exact dish. It was still WAY TOO SALTY! I ate off my friends plates, which were nothing special. We paid and left and vowed never to go back... This is my first review and it's only because it was soooooo bad.

I really enjoy coming here. The atmosphere, staff, and delicious food all make it a treat. From the outside, I was a little hesitate, but the first time I went it, all of that flew out the window. They bring you these awesome little fried chips with duck sauce to munch out while checking out the menu. At lunch, you can get the smaller portions and at dinner, they offer the family style meals, where you get a giant plate of food and everyone shares. I've tried the General Tso's Chicken and Mongolian Beef. Both were incredible. I'm not a fan of egg rolls/spring rolls, but they are pretty good here also. Definitely check them out if you are over on DI!

I think it's one of the best Chinese places in Charleston. The inside is ornate and you feel like you are in Epcot in Disney. The food is good and portions generous. Same menu for takeout which is a little pricey. Great place to eat on Daniel Island.

Saturday dim sum brunch, Chinese New Year. We entered and the hostess seated us at a table near the door. It was drafty and we asked to be moved to one of the many tables along the wall. She rolled her eyes and had a serious attitude "but that's another servers section." I just wanted to have a good brunch so we said, fine, we'll sit by the door. Whatever. She slapped the dim sum order sheets on the table and thankfully we never saw her again. Our server was great, however. When we orders mimosas that were very heavy on the oj, she remedied the situation and brought us more champagne. The xiao long bao/ little juicy buns/ soup dumplings are good, not great. The best in town because they are the only ones in town. The filling is tasty and they are juicy, but the wrapping is thick and gummy. I have made homemade batches twice now, and mine are better. They are so terribly labor intensive. Our server recommended taro cake which I liked. The other dim sum was okay. The fellow diners were a nice mix of people, including some Chinese folks here for a visit who were celebrating the New Year. I am glad Charleston has this establishment and hopefully soup dumplings will catch on down south, creating a demand for a better quality product.

Usually giving this place 5 stars for the Dim Sum Brunch. Today...not so much. Food came cold, server was barely attentive. We had to repeat requests of refills, sauces, etc. Such a disappointment ....

Dragon Palace is definitely not your average chinese take out place. It is a fine dining Chinese restaurant that is beautifully decorated. It is high end Chinese American food, with a few unique takes on some dishes. I love their Dragon Palace Sampler app. and their dinner for 2. This combined with a Restaurant.com certificate or Groupon, its a great bargain and a gargantuan amount of food. It would really feed 4 people rather than two. The asian chicken salad is really fresh and clean tasting, and one of their best dishes is their version of General Tso's. It is sweet without being cloying, and the chicken is always nice and crispy. I have also tried the Mei Fun (Pancit) here with roasted pork, which is my go to order at any other Chinese place. DP's is ok, but I wouldn't get it again, only because their General Tso's is just too good. The service here has always been friendly and competent. I wish I lived closer, but sadly I only get to visit Dragon Palace once in awhile. It is a great addition to Daniel Island I think it lives up their standards for a restaurant.

Well based on the reviews, I was really looking forward to this place. I will say that I got carry out, and it's hard to deliver amazing food in containers. I ordered the dim sum appetizer and the Mongolian beef. Really, the dim sum consisted of 1 shumai and 4 pot stickers, no buns or other types of dim sum. They we ok. Mongolian beef was ok, somewhat lacking that glaze that I'm used to seeing when I get it at other restaurants. Not sure I'll make the trek all the way over to Daniel Island again for my Chinese fix.

Had a Groupon for this place worth $30 and went down to cash in. After pulling up to this little strip mall location, I was surprised by the high end decor inside. This definitely gives the place a nicer feel. Decided to get the Dinner for two. I think it was $40 but that came with plenty of food and gave us a chance to get a sampling of what Dragon Palace had to offer (I put the info from the menu below). Everything was delicious. Probably the best Chinese food I have had down South. To me it still doesn't compare to Chinese from the Northeast but I will go back for sure. Family Dinner for Two 39.50 Cup of Soup (choice of two: hot and sour, wonton, or egg drop) Crispy Spring Rolls Asian Chicken Salad General Tso's Chicken Sauteed Rib Eye Kew

Beautiful restaurant with fantastic service. The dumplings are great. My husband and I split the General Tso's chicken and Mongolian Beef and both were out of this world. Simply wonderful. You must try this place out!

It was A-OK, Service was good and the place is comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. We had some eggs rolls and split a chicken dish with fried rice. All good, not necessarily great. Priced OK. Not really your typical Chinese restaurant or take out palce. Really didn't do it for me somehow. Not my first choice, but may be back.

We used to love this place, but after our recent visit, the service was the worst we have ever experienced. This was our first chinese place after moving to the area over a year ago. Afterwards, we have been 3 times, this being our 4th. The food was not as good as last time and the service even worse. 1. The guy server didn't walk around and place the drinks by himself, in front of us. Instead, he left them at the end of the table and made us pass it down. (Although we didn't do this in other tables as we noticed). 2. He didn't bring enough straw, which we had to ask. 3. We had to ask for extra napkins 4. We asked for Sprite/Drink refills, which wasn't automatic. 5. When our soup came, he did the same, left them at the end of the table, making us pass them along. WIth young children under the age of 3, this was pretty dangerous as well since the soups were quite hot. 6. Same thing with the apps when they arrived. Left them at the end of the table. 7. Only brought 8 plates when we had 10 people total. Had to ask him for extra plates. Ugh. 8. When the main 6 dishes arrive, our drinks were empty, plates were dirty, and AGAIN he left them at the end of the table or simply handed them to us to put it on the table ourselves/clear the table and make room for the dishes ourselves. 9. We had to ask for clean plates. In the pass, they automatically gave use new ones. We also had to ask for refills. 10. Then, we basically didn't have any service until our checks came. 11. WHen the check came at a total of over 150 dollars, GO FIGURE, he automatically added 18% gratuity to our order and counted our young children when we only had 6 adults to make the party of 8 gratuity deal. The table was long enought to seat our party of 10 and plenty of space between our table and the others to walk around himself. At that point in time, we were ready to leave the place and never come back due to this horrible service. My wife went to culinary school and learned about hospitality/the proper way to wait or server people and this was definitely a DO NOT EVER DO school book case. Very bad experience.

We live on DI and love eating at this restaurant. I think it is the best Chinese restaurant in Charleston. The atmosphere is great. We love getting the dinner for 4. We always take home leftovers.

  • Aleks K.

Not bad but nothing I want to come back for. The pork dumplings were good, 4 to a serving - 2.50 each on the dim sum menu and 4.50 for four on the main menu. I tried the garlic chicken 13.50 w a side of rice, it was ok. The pineapple chicken was better - your typical breaded fried thick gooey sauce fiasco. Decor is really unexpected and beautiful. Overall, I like the atmosphere better than the food. We had 4 kids with us making the table a total of 7 and we were charged gratuity. Sorry but kids aren't adults, I don't think that should fly since they shared two plates.

Dragon Palace is not your ordinary take-out place. The food is phenomenal, and while it's more on the higher end, like you'd normally associate with a P.F. Chang's, it's worlds better. The food tastes better, it's a bit cheaper (though it's definitely not a CHEAP meal - I think the Pork Lo Mein is like $11), the service is great, and you don't have ridiculous decor that looks like a crappy Chinese food place made sweet love to a Russian factory. Anyway, I digress. The restaurant is quiet, but you can definitely bring kids here. We've brought Pax, and even on a cranky day, no one gave us the hairy eyeball. The dim sum is awesome, as is the gyoza, and I've had the pork lo mein both times we've got, it's just that good. They've got some interesting variety on their cocktails, but they're rather expensive. They also don't understand that a dry martini has ZERO dry vermouth in it, not EXTRA dry vermouth, but I've almost gotten used to having to say that I really just want vodka and olives.

Mmmmm...husband and I just ate there last night, and we went back home with Buddha bellies and smiling faces! The ambience and decor are very well thought out; the details in the interior framework alone are impressive for this area. You just can't find something this pretty in Charleston! Add to it the blandness of a strip-mall exterior, and you sit down with the feeling of accomplishment that comes with discovering a "diamond in the rough." Of course, that feeling of accomplishment has to be enhanced by the food! Husband and I ordered the House Wonton Soup for 2, Appetizer Sampler Platter, Dim Sum Platter, and Pork Buns (yes, we ended up with way too much). I would certainly recommend going this route if you're a first-timer to Dragon Palace. The variety of fresh, hand-made small plates that resulted from our order were the perfect choice for us, as we were then able to sample lots of different yummy treats (and subsequently rave about each one) simultaneously. I can't say enough about each dish, so I will spare you the long read and sum everything up with something much more succinct: You HAVE to try this place! PS Worth Mentioning: Our bill was $36, and our server was attentive and explained everything to us. We will be back with more folks next time.

AWESOME. Awesome. The steak ho fun and the pork lo mein had so much meat in them (that's...what...she....) and the portions were huge. The service was very friendly and attentive. The inside is definitely impressive to look at. So good, will most definitely be back!

This is the only Chinese restaurant I will eat at. No generic picture menus or mystery meat here. Only high quality, beautifully prepared, delicious dishes. Our family loves the dim sum, especially the pan seared pork dumplings. We also love their soups, especially hot and sour. Favorite dishes include cashew chicken, chicken and mixed vegetables, and the orange beef. The staff here is great as well, friendly and helpful.

I went there today with my colleagues for lunch. I am impressed. Great food and great deco. I ordered the lunch special chicken with mix vegetables with vegetable egg roll and hot-sour soup. The egg roll is crunchy and the soup is OK (A bit too thick for me). Now, the main dish is right at the spot. The dish has good combination of vegetables and balance portion of meat. I enjoy every single bit of my dish. I will be back to try other dishes if I am in town again!!

Delicious, Delicious, Delicious! The food here is always very good and the decor of the restaurant is beautiful. Service can be spotty at times. They do Peking Duck one night a month. It requires reservations as space, and the ducks, are limited. Well worth it! Great lunch place.

  • Rebecca A.

I had lunch with a couple of co-workers here today. I can honestly say this is the only Chinese restaurant I eat out at or order from in Charleston. Everything is always fresh and made to order. I've been here multiple times and always during lunch hours. I get their Mongolian Beef with fried rice. Sometime we get the pork dumplings as an app and they are always delicious. My recommendation is to only eat part of your meal and take home left overs so you will have room for dessert. Order the Banana Xango. It is amazing! My only complaint has nothing to do with the food and only with the height of the chairs and edge of the tables. They are too close together making it impossible to cross your legs.

High end American style Chinese food in a nice environment. If you like American style Chinese food, this is good place to go. If you like authentic Chinese food, PF Chang in Mt. Pleasant maybe a better choice. There is no good authentic Chinese restaurant in Charleston. If you are visitor. I would recommend local seafood restaurant such as fleet landing to taste local style seafood.

Went here for the first time based on other Yelp reviews. De core was nice and the restaurant was clean. Although I would not say this was the best Chinese food I've ever had it was fresh and pretty tasty. Definitely out classes the typical buffet style Chinese restaurants we have to often frequented and now do not have to return too. Service was good but since there was only one other couple in the restaurant at the time (lunch time) it was not hard for our waitress to be very attentive. Will definitely go back again.

Ordered take out. Chicken and vegetables was ok but I ordered the Mandarin Orange Chicken for my husband and it was awful, clumps of hard, fried pieces of something. Will not go back.

The best Chinese food I have been able to find in Charleston. Generally speaking, Chinese food in the South consists of mystery meat cooked in mystery oil, topped with salt.... and served with a side of MSG. I'm super happy to report that I found tasty, fresh and "real" Chinese food at Dragon Palace! The staff is friendly and efficient and the dining room is always clean and provides a nice atmosphere. They also offer a rare Dim Sum menu! It's a hike for me to get to this great little spot, but it is definitely worth the trip every time. I highly recommend Dragon Palace for a date night or family occasion in a great atmosphere with excellent service and delicious Chinese cuisine as authentic as you can get on an island in South Carolina.

Amazing Chinese food... And this is coming from a very picky New Yorker. Hands down the best in Charleston. All the entrees are delicious. The service and decor are great as well. If you have a chance to get the Peking Duck, it's the best I've ever had.

Well if your used to having Chinese food, then this place is okay, but if your new to Chinese then this place is a great place. The restaurant is clean, and friendly. The place is pretty decorative enviroment. But the food is alright, I have all kinds of Chinese food but comparing the best Chinese I had this restaurant is decent.

I'm pretty sure I just came back from a vacation to Imperial China. Okay, maybe not quite, but I do have to say that the ambiance at Dragon Palace is pretty killer. Everything was tied together perfectly, from the dark wood walls and Chinese lanterns to the design on their dinnerware to the beautiful reusable chopsticks (none of those paper-wrapped pull-apart sticks for this place). The hot and sour soup was quite possibly the best I've ever had--full of veggies while still maintaining that classic hot and sour taste. The shrimp in my Szechuan shrimp were a little tough, like they were possibly overcooked. Also, the dish wasn't as spicy as I would have preferred, though I suppose they have to target these things to a more general audience rather than a capsaicin addict. I was pleased with the service we got. We were able to linger a bit and never felt as though we were being rushed, and yet all our needs were fulfilled quickly enough. We will definitely be returning.

Amazing traditional Chinese food. I went on the recommendation of a few people at the hotel and was not disappointed. I enjoyed Wonton soup and egg roll( extremely small) but good as appetizers and Stir Fry Vegetables with shrimp for dinner.

Really enjoy this place, great atmosphere, attentive staff and good Chinese. Don't get me wrong, some of the dishes on the menu can be found at any walk up Chinese joint but the Chinese Pork eggplant is to die for, really, really good! Prices reasonable, full bar available, easy parking on Daniel Island too!

I thought I had reviewed this place long ago, but I guess not. In fact, it really surprises me that I haven't! Anyway, this is THE place to go to if you want Dim Sum. Actually, it's THE only place to go for it. It saddens me that we don't have more Dim Sum around here, then again, that might be a good thing. If there was more, I would probably be on Discovery Health, being hoisted out of my bed on a fork lift. They have the basic Dim Sum, char siu bao, various dumplings, shumai, etc... Don't expect to find obscure things here. They say it's all made "in house", but I can find most the stuff they have at the H and L Oriental Supermarket.

Love love love this place. I have been here a few times and each time the food is wonderful. I love the atmosphere and the service, not to mention the cute way they stack their rice with a slice of cucumber of top. I recommend this place to couples, families and also great for bringing a client for lunch. Yum... it's is so far my favorite Chinese place in Charleston.

Dragon Palace is my favorite Chinese restaurant - the only downside: no delivery. They have a bar when you walk in, but I've never gone to the bar - I've only been there to eat and mostly for lunch. They have a great lunch menu where the prices are super reasonable and you get a lot for your money. I'm a big fan of the General Tso's, but the Honey Mustard Chicken is surprisingly worth a taste as well! They have this awesome banana/ice cream type dessert that reminds me of a Bananas Foster (but it's not) that is pretty un-Chinese I'm guessing, but it's so delicious. The mango cheesecake is not for everyone - it's kind of tart. I'm not a fan but I know people who rave about it. I've also been one year on Valentine's Day where they do a Fixed Menu - excellent! This is the type of restaurant that I'm not afraid to invite my friends and family to go to. Just be forewarned: lunch time here is crazy packed and service will be slow. If you're going for lunch, wait until about 12:45 or 1.

Second time here, service sucked....Seems to be a hit or miss with this place, no consistency as some others have told me. I guess if its your first time here, they LOVE you and can't do enough for you!!!!! If it's not your first time, and you just want an appetizer and a drink, you are wasting their time and they don't have qualms showing you.

The atmosphere is the only good thing I can say about Dragon Palace. The service wasnt' great, the food was cold, the rice was dry with no flavor, Couldn't get to the bathroom quick enough when we got home. Very disappointed!

Dragon Palace is fabulous!!! We are there every couple of weeks and always have Leon and whatever we order is fresh, and fabulous. The lobster from Maine is the best and a great treat when you want lobster and don't miss when they serve their Peking Duck, it is a true culinary experience. We have found this is the best Chinese food, don't miss it !!!!!

This place used to be better. Was there recently and it just is not what it used to be. Food is just OK now. They have pared back their beer selection and the service is not as good. I think this assessment is fair because when I lived on DI, Dragon Palace was always busy. The last two times I have been there the place was empty. Such as shame, as the spots to get decent Chinese dwindle by the day.

What a find! I would never in a million years think that I would find Dim Sum in South Carolina! Well it IS a very limited menu but it will certainly do! The decor is wonderful and unexpected for a "strip mall" restaurant. The surrounding restaurants like Ali Baba Mediterranean Deli is just as wonderful.

I am in town visiting my family. My mother chose the Dragon Palace for this evenings feast. We all had delicous meals. Strongly reccomend the.... Chicken with mixed vegetables Dim Sum Peking Duck (monthly) Cantonese Lobster Salt and Pepper Calamari and.... everything else on the menu... This is the place for you. The service is impeccable- Leon is amazing. Great price point for the amount of food you receive. This is a must try kinda place.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
